The primary difference between NPX and a conventional general-purpose AGM battery is high-rate discharge performance.

Yuasa designed NPX batteries for applications where high wattage is required over relatively short periods.

A UPS may need its batteries to immediately support a substantial electrical load for only a few minutes while:
